Affiliate Disclosure
Continue makes money two ways: subscriptions, and affiliate commission on resale purchases. This page explains the second one in plain language, because a tool that tells you what to buy should be obvious about how it gets paid.
What we earn
When you click through to a second-hand listing from Continue and buy it, the marketplace pays us a commission — typically 3% to 8% of the item price. It is paid by the marketplace out of their own margin.
What it does not do
- It never changes your price. You pay exactly what any other buyer pays.
- It never changes the ranking. Resale results are sorted by price, condition, seller rating and size match. Commission rate is not an input to the ranking model, and we publish this constraint in our engineering docs for a reason.
- It never suppresses a cheaper option. Non-affiliate marketplaces appear in results on exactly the same terms.
Who pays us
We currently have affiliate arrangements with Vinted, Depop, Vestiaire Collective, ThredUp, Poshmark, eBay, The RealReal and Sellpy. Some markets and some categories are excluded by those programmes; in those cases we earn nothing and still show the listing.
The uncomfortable bit
Our incentive is to show you a purchase. Our product is designed to tell you not to make one. We resolve that tension by measuring “duplicates avoided” as a primary success metric, not clicks — 38% of flagged purchases end in no purchase at all, and that number going up is a good quarter for us.
Data shared with marketplaces
An affiliate click sends the listing reference and a Continue partner identifier. It does not send your name, email, closet or wear history. See the Privacy Policy.
