Privacy Policy
Continue Labs B.V. (“Continue”, “we”, “us”) operates continue-fashion.com, the Continue wardrobe web app and the Continue browser extension. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We are the data controller for everything described below.
1. Who we are
Continue Labs B.V., Keizersgracht 241, 1016 EA Amsterdam, Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KVK) 87451209. Data protection contact: [email protected].
2. What we collect
Account data
Email address, display name, password hash, language, plan and billing status. Provided by you at sign-up.
Wardrobe data
Photographs you upload, the machine-readable descriptors we derive from them (silhouette, dominant colours, pattern, estimated fabric, detected brand), and any metadata you add: purchase price, purchase date, size, storage location, wear log, notes.
Extension data
When you press the Continue button on a product page, the extension sends us the product URL, the product images visible on that page, the title and the price. We use it to compute a match against your catalogue and to search resale marketplaces. The extension does not read pages you do not act on, does not run on non-shopping sites, and has no access to form fields, payment details or passwords.
Usage data
Pages viewed on continue-fashion.com, feature usage counters, device type, browser version, coarse (country-level) location derived from IP, and error diagnostics. Analytics are aggregated and cookieless by default.
3. Why we process it (and on what legal basis)
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Run your closet, matching and outfit features | Account, wardrobe, extension | Performance of a contract |
| Search resale marketplaces and rank results | Extension, wardrobe | Performance of a contract |
| Improve match quality | Aggregated, de-identified descriptors | Legitimate interest |
| Billing, tax and fraud prevention | Account, payment metadata | Legal obligation |
| Product emails you asked for | Email address | Consent (withdraw any time) |
| Non-essential cookies and marketing measurement | Usage | Consent |
4. Model training
We do not train models on your photographs unless you explicitly opt in under Settings → Privacy → Help improve matching. The default is off. Opting in is reversible, and withdrawal stops all future use of your images for training.
5. Sharing
We never sell personal data. We share it only with processors that run the service under a data processing agreement:
- Amazon Web Services (eu-west-1, Ireland) — hosting and image storage.
- Stripe Payments Europe — subscription billing. Continue never stores card numbers.
- Postmark — transactional email.
- Plausible Analytics (EU-hosted, cookieless) — aggregate site analytics.
When you click through to a resale marketplace, that marketplace becomes an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We pass an affiliate identifier and the listing reference — never your name, email or wardrobe.
6. International transfers
Data is stored in the European Union. Where a processor requires a transfer outside the EEA, it is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses plus supplementary technical measures (encryption in transit and at rest, EU-held keys).
7. Retention
- Wardrobe photos and catalogue: kept until you delete them or close your account.
- Closed accounts: purged within 30 days, backups rotated out within 90 days.
- Extension lookups: match results are cached for 14 days, then deleted.
- Invoices: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
8. Your rights
You can access, correct, export (machine-readable JSON plus original images), delete, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this is self-service in Settings → Privacy; otherwise email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
9. Security
TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, scoped signed URLs for images, MFA available on all accounts, least-privilege internal access with audit logging, and annual third-party penetration testing.
10. Children
Continue is not directed at children under 16. We delete accounts we learn belong to children under 16.
11. Changes
Material changes are announced by email and in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. This version: 11 September 2026.
